why do i lose internet signal on my laptop when someone calls my land line phone?

Reyes Brunell: Thumbs up to response # 1. Ditto - it's the cordless phone. Check out the link below for tips.

Shane Getler: same here... so:you need to have your modem plugged directly into the wall, but the phones in your house have to be plugged into a separate jack that has a little cord on itself that plugs into the wall, to prevent the calls from interfering with the modem.unplug the modem for ten seconds and plug it back in when you're done.this works now even though I use a cordless phone. =)...Show more

Mark Hovanes: Move your cordless phone away from your wireless router. They both operate in the 2.4GHz range.

Augustus Sarria: If your wireless router, is anywhere near a cordless docking station or a phone at all, then it is possible that the wireless in the phone could be interfering with the wireless router's signal. You should try moving it away from any walls or anything electronic that could be disrupting it's connection.

Alexis Reyer! : if you have dsl if is a common problem call your isp have them send someone out it's a quick fix.

Ronald Moehr: Your laptop is connected to ur land line. You may want to get a different line and plug that into your laptop. Therefore you have one for your land line which is your house and one for your laptop.

Roselee Mczeal: I had da same problem. My problem was dat I was tryin to keep all my phones plugged directly into da wall instead of using da ewires they provided when i got da internet. Basically every phone in ur house cannot be plugged directly in da wall. Plug them into da ewires.
